Portrait of a Designer
By Evra Taylor
t Jisco Eyewear, fashion isn’t just a
trend – it’s the essence of their soul,
a way of life. The company, based
in Barcelona, Spain, represents an
Aintriguing balance of yin and yang.
CEO Francisco Marin started his journey in
the optical business 15 years ago, following a
career as an electrical engineer with Zobele
Group in Barcelona. He was approached by
what he refers to as, “a small but amazing
eyewear design company,” that asked him to
help them achieve a new level of growth and
success. “After six years I was so in love with

eyes – are anathema. In the crowded optical
space, what sets Jisco apart from the pack is a
AND eye-catching colour palette made even more
healthy obsession over details and a stunning,
impressive by its vibrant online descriptions.
Their autumn/winter 2022-2023 collection, for
instance, includes a model named Padruga Pu,
which means ‘girlfriend’ in Russian, and was
BEAUTIFUL inspired by a Russian friend of Neubauer’s.
Padruga Pu showcases the brightest purple/
fuchsia hue one can imagine in an eyeglass
frame, with contrasting colours on the front
and bridge, a beveled front and a wide temple.
Jisco is so committed to colour that they’ve
taken the innovative step of showing pantone
colour swatches as part of their descriptive
